Our kennel name, Foliage Labradors, is a tribute to the breathtaking autumn scenery of New Hampshire and New England. As the leaves change to vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold, we're reminded of the beauty that surrounds us. It's also a nod to the three colors of Labrador Retrievers—black, yellow, and chocolate—symbolizing the diversity and richness of this beloved breed. The Driving Force Behind Foliage Labradors

Harry, a proud native of New Hampshire, carries with him the cherished memories of growing up with a black Labrador Retriever named Atlas. Atlas, a loyal companion, left an indelible mark on Harry's heart, shaping his love for Labradors and influencing his commitment to their well-being. In 2018, as Atlas crossed the rainbow bridge, Harry's connection to Labradors deepened, becoming a driving force behind Foliage Labradors.

Martha's canine journey took root in her upbringing in the DC area. Originally from Switzerland, Martha's early exposure to dogs centered around dachshunds. However, her passion extended beyond her family pets. Martha dedicated her time to volunteering at animal shelters, nurturing a profound understanding of the bond between humans and their four-legged friends.

Having moved from Switzerland during elementary school, Martha's diverse background and love for dogs converged in her advocacy for Labradors. The journey began with Yoda, her first service dog, igniting a passion that would later culminate in the founding of Foliage Labradors.

Together, Harry and Martha bring a wealth of experience, compassion, and a shared vision to Foliage Labradors. Their unique backgrounds, from Harry's upbringing with Atlas to Martha's early experiences with dachshunds and shelter volunteering, create a rich tapestry that defines the ethos of Foliage Labradors.

Inspiration from Yoda: Martha's journey with Labrador retrievers began with Yoda, a yellow Labrador and her first service dog.
